Eligibility to SSE Admission

  • 4 years of Mathematics (including Calculus)
  • 2 years of all basic sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • 3 years of English (4 years recommended)

Admission Procedure

Admission to SSE is highly competitive. There are no minimum thresholds that you must meet to apply; all applications are judged on their relative merits. Eligible applicants must have completed their A 'Levels/F.Sc. or equivalent examination by August of current year.

Admission Test - SSE

The SSE Admissions Test will be held in the following six cities across Pakistan:
  • Islamabad
  • Karachi
  • Lahore
  • Multan
  • Peshawar
  • Quetta

Before the end of February the SSE Admissions Office will mail out registration slips for the test. No candidate without a registration slip will be allowed to take the test. Please note that only candidates with complete applications will be notified. The exact locations, test timings, and other information will be communicated to applicants before the test.

Note: No calculators will be allowed. The test consists of five (5) sections. One section is compulsory. From the remaining four Subject Sections you may attempt any three of your choice. If you attempt all four, the best three will be counted towards your final score.

Compulsory Sections - Basic Mathematics
Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty level: O 'Level/Matriculation
Question Type: Multiple choice
Preparation: Any SAT preparation book

Subject Section

Subject Sections -
  • Advanced Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Time: 45 minutes for each section
  • Difficulty Level: A 'Levels/F.Sc./SAT II (the questions will be "unseen" that is, they will not be taken from past A 'Levels/F.Sc. exams or standard textbooks; they will search for a deep understanding and good recall of fundamental principles)
  • Question Type: Multiple choice questions in each section
  • Preparation: Self-study, good science textbooks, online instruction, tutoring, study groups… solve lots of practice problems that cover the test curriculum!
