Visa - Study Permit to Singapore
International students must obtain a student visa pass and comply with other requirements before they can commence a course of study.
A visa (study permit) is required for persons who are not Singaporian citizens or permanent
residents of Singapore and who wish to study temporarily in Singapore. A study permit is issued if the
application is accepted.

Applying For visa
You must have a letter confirming that you have been accepted by an educational institution before
you apply for a study permit. An educational institution includes a university, college or other
educational institution. The institution will decide if you meet its academic requirements.
To obtain such acceptance, you must deal directly with the educational institution in which you are
interested.
Visa requirements
You must
* satisfy an officer that you will leave Singapore at the end of your studies;
* have been accepted by an educational institution;
* prove that you have enough money during your stay in Singapore to pay for:
* tuition fees;
* living expenses for yourself and accompanying family members; and
* return transportation for yourself and accompanying family members;
* produce any additional documents requested by the officer to establish your admissibility;
* complete a medical examination, if required.
Student Pass
A Student's Pass allows a foreigner to remain in Singapore for the purposes of study. A foreigner is required to apply for a Student's Pass
if he/she has been accepted by an education institution to pursue full-time studies in Singapore, unless he/she is a:
Dependant's Pass holder studying in a Government/ Government-Aided/ Independent school/ Foreign System School/ Kindergarten registered
with MOE or Childcare centre licensed by MCYS;

Work permit during study
Full-time undergraduate & graduate students are allowed to work part-time of up to 16 hours per week during
school term. However, they need to obtain permission from the student's affairs office of their respective
Universities.During their vacations, they are allowed to work full-time as the Ministry of Manpower has exempted them
from applying for work permits.
